"'Hell on Earth,' California Killer's Family Says" - Camille Farrar

This article shows the results of the recent shooting near University of California, Santa Barbara that took place on May 23. Elliot Rodger stabbed three people and shot three more before he shot himself and crashed his black BMW. Among his victims were his roommates and other students from the university. He had said before that he was against popular men and beautiful women because he somehow felt that they were responsible for his loneliness. After the killings, his parents said their hearts go out to the families of the victims and that the focus should be on them in this time.
Stories about killing are much too prevalent in today’s society, and I would love to come to a point where they are a rarity. I wish there could have been a way to help Elliot Rodger before this happened. All of the students he killed had bright futures ahead of them and could have gone on to achieve great things. My thoughts will be with the families of the victims in this trying time. The father of one of the victims is calling for further gun control after this act of violence. I hope the near future will be safer than the present.

  1. This is so terrible! I remember when I first read about the unibomber, nobody expected him to turn out like he did: he went to Harvard and had successful parents. I guess your background plays a less significant role than people expect.
