Emma Sutherland - Firefighter adopts baby that he delivered after incident

SUMMARY:
Marc Hadden, a firefighter in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, rescued a woman from what was assumed "abdominal pain". The pain ended up being labor pains, signaling that the baby was to be born any minute. After delivering the newborn baby in the back of the ambulance, Hadden learned at the hospital that she was to be up for adoption. He jokingly said he would be the father. But after talking to his wife about it and realizing that they'd always wanted to adopt a little girl, they brought Rebecca Grace Hadden home 48 hours later. Hadden said that they were unable to have more kids, and "We always dreamed of adopting a little girl". Hadden and his wife had two boys already, and the addition to the family was more than he could ever ask for. "Gracie" is now 5 years old, and a gymnast and soccer player. Hadden said that the moment she could comprehend, she told them of the ambulance incident, and that she is aware of everything that happened. Hadden was later named "Firefighter of the year", but he said that "there's no better reward than to have the girl he's always wanted".

ANALYSIS:
Before reading this article, I had been aware of the ambulance incidents and the extent of what could happen. It's great that her problem was no so extreme, but that a miracle was happening! I'm so glad that Hadden was able to adopt her and do such a great thing for his family and the community! It's great to see acts like this take place, and how much they've evolved since it happened. The family seems to be in great shape and taking good care of Gracie! Also, it's a good thing they are letting her be aware of the entire incident as an early age. She will have less curiosity later on, and will be more content in her situation. This article was a great way to see how people are committing good deeds in the world, and using their power to do good!
