Summary- President Donald Trump has signed an executive order withdrawing the U.S from Trans- Pacific Partnership trade deal- which is a semi- secret 12 nation free trade agreement which was advocated by the Obama Administration, and aimed to deepen economic ties between the U.S and 11 pacific rim nations. Trump stated that withdrawing from the deal was a "Great thing for the American worker."- He says that the deal is harmful to the American worker and harms our manufacturing sector. The signing has been met with opposition in both parties.
Analysis- So here it is, what we've all been waiting for: President Donald Trump. And this is his first order as the President. I'm not too knowledgeable on this deal and what it could do for us, but I think it may be smart to get our self out of a foreign alliance-esque deal. The less we have to deal with outside things the better- or I don't know, maybe i'm looking at this backwards. What we need to focus on is America and repair. This can be compared to the labor strikes and reform of the American workers in the Gilded age- since Trump says that this order will help the american worker.
I hope that Trump did the right thing in this case, because we are all going to pay for it if it was the wrong thing.
