DFW airport detainees released by Caitlin King

On January 27th, 2017, Donald Trump signed an executive order banning all travel from muslim-majority countries such as Syria, Iraq, and Iran. This affected people in the air as well as those on the ground, and when planes from these seven countries landed in DFW, they arrived to shocking news of the ban. These travelers were detained until January 29th when most of them were reunited with their families. This has been a long and stressful weekend for detainees, but this week will be even longer for legal officials trying to sort these matters out.

This article was written on January 29th and updated on January 30th by a local news channel, CW33. It contains a video clip of a news story containing shots of protests in DFW's international terminal D and happy detainees being reunited with their families. It shows how Trump's ban is affecting more than muslim "terrorists" but is also affecting everyday American people who picked a bad time for a vacation, and families trying to visit their children in the US who may be attending school or working to make a better life for themselves and their families.
