Hundreds of people gathered in the streets of D.C., in protest of the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. The protests did not effect any inauguration ceremonies, but it did effect the streets of Washington. The protesters have shattered storefronts, broken cars, lit cars on fire, and one protester acquired a head injury. 217 people were arrested and pepper spray was fired multiple times in an attempt to disperse the crowd. The riot was orchestrated by a group named "DisruptJ20" with the goal of paralyzing the city.
I do understand the frustration that people have with the recent election of Donald Trump, but this is the polar opposite of the correct way to show your frustration. If this is the way people show their frustration with the recent election, the left will be seen as immature, hostile and ultimately, people will not want to listen to what you have to say. This type of behavior gives a bad reputation not to only the people that participated in the riot, but the entire population of people opposed to the election of Donald Trump. I think this can be connected to the riots in Ferguson, Missouri because there was many frustrated people over a government event, that could have been presented much more mature and organized.
