In Georgia, tornadoes raked through Sunshine Acres mobile home park, leaving seven dead on Saturday night. People scrambled into closets and bathtubs to try and protect themselves from the violent storms and tornadoes, which eventually razed that park to the ground. After several terrifying minutes, first responders, emergency dogs, and neighbors worked together to find survivors and save them, many of whom were small children. Also on Saturday, 4 people were killed and 50 injured in a tornado in Forrest County, Mississippi. President Trump spoke to Gov. Nathan Deal of Georgia as well as Florida Gov. Rick Scott and offered his sympathy.
This is horrendous. All of these innocent people who have lost their lives and homes because of the tornadoes is truly heartbreaking. I hope that they receive lots of aid and support as they try to rebuild their lives. It must have been so frightening to sit through the tornado, listening to it destroy your house and injury friends and family. Nobody deserves to go through such an ordeal. In 1936, a major tornado ripped Gainesville Georgia, killing 203 people and destroy 750 homes.
