Mackenzie Bessner- At least 20 killed in deadly tornado

On Monday, tons of deadly tornadoes struck the Southeast killing at least 20 people and destroying very many homes. According to CNN meteorologists, there were tornadoes in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The citizens of these states, were frightened by the twisters. A survivor in Georgia even explained that it reminded them of a horror movie. People were actually swept off the ground and thrown to a different location as well as houses. After the twisters started to branch away, the streets were filled with rubbish including damaged homes and overturned cars.

Before I read this article, I did not know that this event took place. While reading this article, I was very shocked and upset. I feel really bad for the people who have lost either their loved ones, homes, or even both. It must be devastating and I hope that they will recover from this tragedy very quickly. This reminds me of the tragedy that struck in 2016, Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew was a very destructive tropical cyclone that hit many places including the Western Atlantic and the southeastern United States. Over 1,600 deaths were estimated after the storm and it was very tragic. People over the world had to be evacuated as soon as possible because it was one of the deadliest hurricanes in history. I hope that when people  read this article that they will try to help these people find hope and recover as best as they possibly can. This article was published by CNN and it is a very reliable news network.

  1. This is so sad, and I am praying for all those affected by this tornado! That's terrifying that it even reminded them of something in a horror movie! I hope that they find more survivors and are able to recover and repair many damaged things!
