Matthew Zapata - Donald Trump's "Boy talk"

An article was released on October 17, 2016 that addressed the topics of Trump's horrible remarks about women in 2005 and his wife's response to the recent release of these tapes to the public. This source of the article is CNN and the author is Eric Bradner. The article was more factual than opinion based which gave the reader a great opportunity to interpret Melania's words the way they want to. The story basically explains how Melania is defending her husband against the newly released tapes. She tells Anderson Cooper in an interview that they were just having "boy talk" so it was perfectly fine for him to say these things. She also says that the language he used was in fact unacceptable and she has never heard him say things like that before. Also she believes the interviewer was edging him on to say these things which I guess in her mind made it a little more acceptable for him to behave in such a way. The time period that this article was released in can alter the meaning because in todays society feminism is on a high rise and also the presidential election is upon us giving people prior knowledge about trump before reading this article. I honestly am yet again not surprised by his remarks and am intact disgusted. Even if someone is supposedly edging you on to say these things, you have control over your mind and body, you make the decision of what comes out of your mouth. Melania is just like Trump in the aspect that they both think boys will be boys and can treat and talk about women how ever they please.

  1. I think what Donald Trump did is awful. Why are so many people still with him? We have come so far for women's equality in America, then a candidate for presidency discriminates women and talks about them almost like an object. It truly sickens me.
