Summary: Today, in the first interview of her since tapes of her husband were released, Melania Trump defended Donald, calling various accusations of sexual assault "lies" and explained that he was being "egged on" by Billy Bush in the tapes. Melania excused the conversation as "boy talk", how "they talk when they grow up", and she even confessed that her husband sometimes behaves like an overgrown boy, yet Donald is 70, far from the age of growing up. Melania stated that she agreed with Michelle Obama that groping a woman without consent is indeed sexual assault, but argued that her husband never said he actually did grope any woman in such a way. Ending the interview, she promised that her husband is "real and raw" and will fight for the citizens of America, quickly restating some of his policies.
Analysis: This article on the interview is straight and to the point of the matter, seemingly unbiased. While I was reading, especially toward the end, it became apparent that Melania may have been encouraged to say some of things she said, if not all. The restatement of his policies are evident of this. At the very end of the interview, she added "Don't feel sorry for me. I can handle everything." It points back to various other men accused of sexual assault and their wives given sympathy. But she has made it clear she doesn't want it, and with the "I can handle everything", she hints at an obvious falling out between her and her husband, contrasting to their nonchalant behavior.
