Apple posted it first sales reports, and it shows that this is their first sale decline since 2001. the numbers dropped from 253 billion to 216 billion, quite a significant drop considering their reputation. Falling sales are do to the declining sales of the iPhone, Apples number one product. Many analysts have raised concerns that the global smartphone market is saturated. Customers are taking longer to replace their phones. Apple's latest iPhone is a dead ringer for the previous two models, eliminating some of the desire to upgrade. However their is still hope for redemption for Apple, Apple is projecting that it will post sales of $76 billion to $78 billion in the upcoming quarter, up from $74.8 billion a year earlier.
I think that Apple has not conjured any new improvements to the iPhone, aside from the fact that all they do is upgrade the camera and other minor things. The audiance for the iPhone wants to see something new!! We dont want to see, virtually, the same thing from last time. Looking at the previous iPhones we've seen changes in design from first generation to the 6, but after the 6 all the phones still have the "same" design. I believe if apple would like to redeem their revenue, they must come up w a whole new concept for the iPhone that appeals the audience.

To me, I feel like its a bit difficult to make any major upgrades. What's new that is not already added? I heard that to make people buy the new upgrade they are taking partnerships with other companies apps that after a 2 year-old phone model, the apps will shutoff.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good point! I am surprised that this is the first drop since 2001. For instance, I have not heard of anyone with the new iPhone 7 because there is no need for it!
ReplyDeleteI agree and think its difficult to make a better iPhone and I'm personally confused by the iPhone 7 because you can't use headphones so I think that would be going backwards even though its water proof.
