Powdery substance cancels Met Opera show
By: Susanna Catpelouto
Summary: On October 30th, 2016 this Sunday the Met opera show was canceled. According to the police, a man walked up to the orchestra pit during intermission, pulled out a bag and stated sprinting something in the air. Witnesses say that he came to sprinting the ashes of his mentor during the show. for safety precautions, they pulled an evacuation just incase. The Met said they will offer refunds for the second half of the show.
Analysis: I believe this is a really sweet action to take but also a consequence for others. Imagine one of your friends going through all that trouble to spread your ashes in an orchestra pit. There definitely can be other way without going to this extreme of measures but the point came across very clear to honor the mentor. What the police did was right though evacuating everyone because you never know what the powder substance could be. thankfully for the audience it was nothing super harmful.

Oh wow!!!! 😱
ReplyDeleteim glad he was trying to honor a mentor, but during a performance? like dude really!
ReplyDeleteI feel like that guy didn't have common scene or something. You would think he would of realized how weird/disturbing this was and would of had enough time to think about it before he actually did it. I get that he had a good meaning behind it, its just kinda weird.
