clown scare parents guide- Lilly Anthony

Summary: The clown scares have come across as a serious threat to people’s safety, but reports are saying that most social media threats and rumors were harmless except for a few serious incidents. Schools are cautionary to the clown scares and have been asked to keep parents informed and issue any necessary rules. Some of the rules issued at school, for example, would be “banning all clown costumes on school grounds,” which seems to be necessary during Halloween season. Police, law enforcements, etc. have been investigating designated crimes and are telling people to stay calm and not take part in the “clown mischief.” These copycat crimes impose a concerning problem, but it’s important to know that they have been harmless. For the parents, it’s important that they reassure safety of their kids and not be hypervigilant about the threats. When looking at these threats, investigators point out that if someone wanted to abuse a child, they would usually try to blend in with those around them and not make themselves noticeable such as wearing a clown costume.

Analysis: Prior to reading this article, I knew that the clown scares were a serious issue. Being a student, the clowns were a threat at many schools so I've had to take caution to my surroundings. This article’s audience is intended for parents with young kids who need to be reassured that they need to not be overly cautious and know that law enforcement is doing their best to help. Anyone who is concerned about the clowns is an audience to this article and I hope that this reaches out to a lot of people. In the Salem Witch Trials when people dressed up as witches began performing witchcraft, synthesizes to the people dressed up as clowns intending to scare people also.

  1. The mindless criminals who are participating in this hectic need to be punished even if they are not hurting people yet. They are terrorizing our peace of mind if not our physical attributes.

  3. Why scare so many kids when Halloween is coming up? I'm sure many people wanted to dress as clowns for Halloween, but clearly now this will not be allowed.

  4. Even though it might be just a joke, there has been serious incidents and I'm personally glad that people in authority are taking in serious. It's going to be rough on Halloween to try to stop people from dressing up as clowns.

  5. I am glad that the police are taking this seriously. If they didn't the threats would probably become attacks. It's good to take action now before it's too late.

  6. The clown issue is not something to be taken lightly. The whole thing sounds like it came from a movie, it sounds surreal. I'm glad precautions are being taken to make everyone feel safe again especially considering halloween is around the corner.

  7. Good to hear that such precautions are being made. Threats are not jokes even when they are not intended to be serious.
