I think it's safe to say that we've hit a new low, given the actions of several politicians who consider their voices representative of every citizen in their governed territory. Governors Greg Abbot, Nathan Deal (Georgia), Robert Bentley (Alabama), and many other state governors have taken to twitter to express the measures they have taken to force the displacement of thousands upon thousands of refugees from a war-torn country because one Paris attacker had made his way into France with many of the actual refugees using a false name, and in the midst of all the victims attempting to seek refuge, he was able to slip in without much hesitation from the government. One single person gets in to do harm to a country and thousands of victims are forced back to their homes to die.
Apparently the well-known phrase "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" is untrue and "one person's mistake can ruin it for everybody else" has unfortunately been proven accurate.
Hopefully the Syrians will be able to find a safe place to stay until the war is over (if it ever ends), since it won't be the nation founded on the principles of freedom and being a safe haven for (at the time, religious) refugees. How ironic/hypocritical.
