Ronda Rousey is a UFC fighter with a winning streak of 12 fights. She is a fan favorite and is known for taking out her opponents in a matter of seconds. They only person they thought could beat her was Holly Holm, a 34-year old veteran. To the surprise of the audience, Holm beat Rousey with a knockout in the second round. Rousey was taken to the hospital to make sure everything was alright. The article talks about what Holm said after winning the match. Holm was training for this match she she said that every though it was an extreme anount of work, it was worth it. Holm now has the champion belt.

I'm surprised by this outcome; I was somewhat expecting Rousey to win after seeing an interview of her the other day as she talked about her life and how she became a fighter. Even though they fight as a career as well as a sport, their fighting reminds me of Andrew Jackson and how many people he fought. He was always viewed as tough and quick-tempered, but people like Rousey and Holm get paid for fighting and do it for the sake of fighting, not because they don't like the person they are fighting.

I was utterly shocked at this fight. I was expecting a good fight from Ronda. Not only did Ronda have huge holes in her techniques, but she was completely reckless. For example, Ronda was chasing after Holly and basically running right into her punches/kicks. However, it was a fair fight in the end. Madeline Jones 4th period.
