Summery: This article happened early in November. It was a 20-second clip of an apple store employee and guard telling three Sudanese/Somali boys that they need to leave the store. When one of the boys questions it the employee responds with 'They're worried you might steal something'. Then all three boys try to ask him why, but the employee cuts him off and asks them to leave the store. That is where the video ends. This was in Melbourne, Australia.
Analysis:This rejection of these boys was obviously because they're black. Clearly a problem the world has struggled with for hundreds of years. In the United States racism can be traced back in the civil war (long before that, but this is just an example)when many democratic parties were fighting to abolish slavery. This party was a mixture of varying viewpoints on why slavery was bad. some were religious and argued that slavery was a moral injustice in the eyes of God, others had the idea that slavery was hurting the economy stealing jobs from the poor white male that needed a job to feed his family. The later idea still had the white males were superior from the blacks and this is when racism grew stronger.

racism is something that will never go away
ReplyDeleteThere may never truly be an end to racism. No matter what is done, it always seems to come back.
