Summary: In Chicago, a man attempting to rob a store was shot multiple times by a customer that had a concealed carry license. At first, it wasn't clear if the then unidentified customer would face charges, but now it is being said that it was an act of self defense. There have been many other cases similar to this one and it has started to pose the question of how will these people be viewed? Will they be heroes or something else?
Analysis: I think that this event marks an important time where we begin to ask a question about what boundaries are going to be drawn when it comes to carrying guns. As much as the customer did help in this situation, he wasn't being personally threaten. It really is just a tough situation because one hand, you want to thank the customer for what he did, but on the other hand, the situation hadn't gotten to a point where he absolutely needed to pull the gun.
