Hillary Clinton has been heavily criticized by Republicans after one of her answers during Saturday's democratic debate. After was asked if we were "at war wit Radical Islam," she quickly denounced the term, saying it would be "painting with too broad a brush." She stated we, referring to America, are not at war with Muslims or Islam as a religion, but jihadists, referring to the violent jihadist movement that has been recently prevalent after the Paris attacks. Some people are taking her remarks out of context, even though her meaning was clear: we are not at war with any religion. We are at war with violent terrorists who use a religion to justify their actions.

I'm gonna leave your political beliefs to you. I don't care if you do or do not support Hillary Clinton, and it is none of my business. However, I do believe she has a very important message. After 9/11, it seems the widespread idea is that Islam is inherently bad. Well, remember the Crusades? Don't act as if Christianity, or any other religion, hasn't had its fair share of "bad apples." My point is, terrorism doesn't have a religion, or race, or anything. We are at war with ISIS, and ISIS happens to be Muslim. The fact that ISIS is a terrorist organization and the fact that it is Muslim does not have any correlation. We need to separate our nation's ideas of terrorism and Islam.
