86 year old woman that has gone through 36 years of college - Eleni Loving 1st period

Nearly 50 years ago an 86 yer old woman named Ann Dilley became interested in making jewelry by a family heirloom given from her mother. After receiving a major in art and another degree in English literature from a college in Connecticut in 1950 she desires not to stop learning about metalsmithing. After moving to Grand Rapids with her husband in 1952 she has been hooked on metalsmithing ever since. She enrolled at Grand Valley for 36 years continually learning about the art of jewelry making. Her never ending yearning for learning has made her want to stay at Grand Valley for as long as her health will allow.

I love this story. This woman is very inspirational! So many kids have the burning desire to get out of school and to just get into their career. For her to want to stay in school for purely that feeling to keep learning something new everyday, is so respectable. Also this story is very delightful because its those people that are bring hope into the continuously dismal stories, that even though are true still emphasize our lack of love, our hatred for anyone who is different from us and many of our other flaws. This woman is one of the few people that remind me that our country has good and has some beacons of light for the next generations to follow. It shows us young people that you don't have to rush out of schooling because that's what everyone else says. You can stay in college to learn and to have unlimited banks of knowledge about something you're passionate about. Many kids (including me) find that some jobs wouldn't be worth the number of years that you must spend in college studying it. Although I've learned that if it's something you truly want to do, you wont mind.
