US Warships sail in South China Sea-- By Diya Ghayal

Summary: Two of America's warships, the USS Spruance and USS Preble, sailed near the disputed islands in the South China Sea. This military move among our navy is bound to draw a reaction from Beijing, as a very similar scenario like this, occurred just a few weeks ago. Today, the ships sailed 12 nautical miles from the Spratly Islands, and this mission's intent is to "preserve access to the waterways as governed in international law."

Analysis: This article was written and updated fairly recent... about 20 hours ago, which means the information is up-to-date. This article was written to show America's point of view and how we have the rights to fly, sail, or operate wherever international law allows it. It defends the US' intentions and states the intent of the mission, which according to the navy was, "freedom of navigation operation." This mission can relate to the same issue that occurred just a few weeks ago between America and China. Also, this can relate to other warship stories, such as the Lusitania, the ship that got sunk due to German warfare. It can relate to other economic and military agreements between USA and China, even such as the Open Door Policy. This article was intended for Americans to read, because it defends our right to participate in this mission, and demonstrates our freedom to sail in the South China Sea.
