Trump is Mad @ Alec Baldwin - Clay

Alec Baldwin, SNL’s resident Trump actor, has responded to Trump’s tweet regarding his reprised portrayal of him on the show Saturday for a skit that recreated the president's Friday morning speech about the border, the budget, and assorted other subjects. Trump sent a tweet out firing back at them saying, “Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!” Most social media commenters shrugged off the president's talk about "retribution" for a sketch comedy show. But a couple noted on Twitter that no other president in decades publicly threatened 'retribution' against a television network because it satirized him. The last major example that I was able to find of a President directly threatening the news/doing something about it was during Nixon’s presidency when he compiled a list of press “enemies” and had them audited. His surrogates even mounted a campaign to yank the license of a television station owned by the Washington Post, which broke the Watergate scandal and published parts of the Pentagon Papers.

  1. I think it’s stupid that things like this are the presidents priority. He shouldn’t be wasting his time on such insignificant issues because he’s literally the president and should be worrying about things that actually matter.
