Liam Wise - Trump's Approval Ratings Reach Record Lows

With the anniversary date of Trump's election victory over Hillary Clinton approaching, he continues to have extreme difficulty to keep his approval rating above water. Currently, according to the newest Washington Post-ABC News poll, 59% disapprove of Trump's handling of the presidency. This leaves only 37% that approve of his actions in office. This makes Trump the first president since Harry S Truman to have a "net-negative" approval. The closest so far would've been Bill Clinton, with a net approval of 11%, but Trump blows him out of the water. Before Trump's inauguration, a resounding 61% believed he'd do an excellent job handling the economy, this number has since dropped to 44% and continues to steadily decline. These statistics are most certainly representative of Trump's unavoidably bad performance in the executive branch.

  1. I'm glad that the people who had faith in Trump's economic ability are seeing that he's actually not a great president or person. Hopefully his actions during his first term will guarantee he doesn't have a second.

    1. This is absolutely spot on. I hope this can serve as a warning against reelection.

  2. All political beliefs aside, Trump has just consistently underperformed in office. He makes these crazy bills and executive orders, but doesn't ever have plans for follow through or what is to happen once it passes. He just tends to make a mess and leave congress to clean it up. This is extremely evident with the healthcare bill, just repealing obamacare and forcing congress to come up with a better plan. It's evident with the removal of daca and his lack of explanation as to what that meant for all the pre-existing dreamers. I may disagree with him in my political standpoints, but objectively he has overall just not been good with creating solutions.
