Church Shooting in Texas Leaves 26 Dead

On November 5th, at the early morning church service chaos struck. Open fires broke out at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. The suspected gunman, Devin Patrick Kelley, was reported to have killed 26 people, and wounded 20 others: ten of which are in critical care. Many fled the scene, including Kelley himself: who was found dead in his car blocks away with a bullet wound.

This article coneys the idea that although someone may have what seems like "the power" in the end it can, like in this case literally backfire. Devin Kelley could represent a slave owner in the south in away, because although he had all the power in the situation, he still ended up loosing in end. The slaves banned together with strength and in the end slavery was abolitioshed and they won. Even though situations seem unfair, the right thing will usually result.

  1. This shooting is so scary and so sad. I've read many current events on it and every time I read it I get even sadder. You made a good connection to history!
