Southern Nevada man, Roy McClellan was killed this November 17th in a hit and run accident, about 60 miles away from Las Vegas; where he'd survived a tragic shooting more than a month earlier. He and his wife had originally escaped safely when a radical gunman rained bullets on the route 91 Harvest music festival. Facing now another tragedy, the new widow exclaims "I don't understand why he wasn't taken at the shooting, but a month later he was taken this way." Another 2 concert-goers were killed in a car crash in October, previously. Though this took place near Riverside, California, farther from Vegas, the aftermath was even more intense. It took firefighters an hour to quell the flames erupting from their totaled Mercedes. It goes to show just how fragile life is, and even if saved in one moment, could be lost the next. These deaths hold significance to many because of their ties to the shooting, but I see them more as symbols of the universal fragility of life. Though our hearts go out to the families of those picked off post-maturely, we also rejoice in those that survived the shooting and continue to survive among us.

Olivia Wall- What happened in Vegas is awful, and the fact that his wife had to go through this and how crazy that is that he was fine through the shooting and passed away from car accident.

ReplyDeleteThe shooting itself was a tragedy, but this is truly saddening, as it was unexpected, once again.
