In February a father got a call they never wanted to hear, that their child was dead. Though Jim Pizzai call was one that sent anger through him when he found out that his 19 year old son had died from falling down the stairs after his soon to be frat brothers issued him 18 drinks in 90 minutes. Most of the fraternity brothers are now facing criminal charges but the family is still outraged.
This article is very important because it shows that we need to be more realistic with how we handle our life decisions. What happened to Tim is indescribable. Now I know many of you are saying ,” he should’ve said no “ , but once in all life our lives we did something we might’ve regretted today to please somebody then. That’s what Tim did , those men coerced time into drinking those drinks because he knew if he did he would be sort of their group. This country needs to shed more light on hazing because if not more and more innocent people are going to die. These men need to be held accountable for time sdeath even though no one intentionally knew that this was going to happen they should’ve been careful. That should have stopped before they gave him the 5th, 6th 7th drink and thought to themselves what could happen to him if I give him this drink. Peoples lives and heath are not a joke and are not to be handled lightly. This article was written by mike deak of USA TODAY in order to inform of of the tragedy that needs more national attention. This is more important in this time because now we see people dying from tragedies every day and we need to prevent death if we can , not provoke it.
It surprises me that a frat house would want to see one of their potential brothers completely drunk as he was when he fell down the stairs died. They obviously didn't look at the possible outcomes of their actions. I think that crime, especially underage drinking and drug abuse, is super awful to see at colleges. Drug abuse and alcoholism is glamorized in American youth, which is pretty awful considering it's one of the top reasons of death on American college campuses.

ReplyDeleteThis is absurd. "Brothers" don't let things like this happen to their family. Those involved suffered a moment of shortsightedness. In what way could having 18 drinks in 90 minuets have a good outcome? The hazing that occurs in some cases is truly disturbing. Those hazed face serious humiliation, physically taxing tasks, and now even death. I agree that more light needs to be shed on situations like this. I can only imagine what his family is going through and I hope they can get closure and recover.
