Audrey Luna, an opera singer in Thomas Adés's new opera, "The Exterminating Angel" sings the highest note humanly possible, for a brief second on stage at the Met Opera. A note so high -the A above middle C- that it has never been sung in 137-year history of the performers at that Opera.
Luna, takes the role as Leticia the "opera diva"of the show, where the vocal demands for the character are a hard, and demanding workout for any of the performers taking that role. With this role present, singing a high A is extremely hard work and takes "a combination of genetic gifts, rigorous, training and psychological discipline over two fragile vocal chords". Luna stuns the audience with her talent and her ability to reach that note!
