Sam Wood - Roy Moore Scandal 11-13-17

Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore of Alabama has been accused of having relationships with teenagers when he was in his 30s. One woman making these accusations was 14 years old at the time of the incident. Many politicians, including Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have said Moore should remove himself from the election and allow the Republicans to choose another candidate to represent them in the race. Roy Moore has denied the claims and says he has no plans to drop out of the race.

I am very interested to see what will happen next. Will Moore stay in? Will he be elected in spite of the accusations, or will a Democrat win the seat in a staunchly Republican state? I don't think it is right to have a person in office who has done the terrible things he is accused of.

  1. I am just as curious as you are and I believe that rape is horrible no matter who it happens to. But how ever these rape accusations should not be taken lightly either from the person that is accusing or the person that is being accused. It is very hard to find evidence on such cases which just makes it one of the worst crimes.

  2. A government official in Alabama tried to defend Moore by relating his hebephilia to Joseph's marriage to a teenage Mary in the bible, but this has provoked wide outrage among Christians due to its not accounting for cultural and time-period norms, making an assumption that is not directly stated in the bible, and doing nothing to excuse actions taken by Moore (especially those of a sexual nature, as Mary bore Jesus while still a virgin).
