A 14-year old boy in Odanah, Wisconsin was fatally shot by a police officer; the boy, who was said to have been wielding a knife, was killed by Sheriff's Deputy Brock Mrdjenovich. The boy, Jason Pero was killed after a 911 call had been made from the area describing Pero walking around with a butcher knife. It was later discovered that Jason had made this call. Jason was Native American and was active in the Bad River Band Of Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The boy has had no history of violence and was a calm kid in the school band. He came home early from school that day and stayed at the house with his uncle and watched TV. The uncle got a call later with the news of his nephew's death. The family and tribe are asking for support through this difficult time.
This news is hard to see and hear. To think that such a young boy was killed by a police officer of all people. It is hard to determine the fault of the death. Jason Pero was acting dangerously and was threatening a deputy. At the same time Mrdjenovich should have used better judgement that would not have led the boy's death while keeping himself safe. Little is known about the tragedy at this time and I would like to see any further developments that happen so that this events can be prevented in the future.

What proof is there that he threatened a deputy?
