NASA Astronaut Dick Gordon Died at the Age of 88

Astronaut Dick Gordon who had flown to the moon but was never given the chance to walk the surface has recently died at the age of 88 in California. He had first flown into space aboard the Gemini 11 in 1966 and had flown again in 1969 as the command module pilot on Apollo 12 as well as in line to command perhaps Apollo 18 which however had gotten canceled. He will be remembered as "one of our nation's boldest flyers."

It is always sad to see someone pass and it is a little disappointing that he wasn't given the chance to be able to walk the surface of the moon. however he will be missed and will serve as an inspiration to future pilots of future missions into space.
