Sophia Jalilvand: New Yorkers unite to scrub hateful graffiti from subway

Summary: In a New York subway train, Gregory Locke and other passengers saw Nazi writing on the windows in Sharpie. They said things like "Jews belong in the oven," "Destroy Islam," and "Heil Hitler." Jared Nied noted that hand sanitizer and other alcohols can get rid of Sharpie, so the passengers united to scrub off the writing with whatever hand wipes or other disinfectants they had on them. The police are looking into possible suspects.

Analysis: It is wonderful to see that people are bonding together to help rid the world of hate. I am saddened by the fact that there are people so hate driven. More importantly, however, I am disturbed at how quickly and effectively Donald Trump is bringing people with this much hate forth from the shadows of society. Amerians are surely becoming more and more frightened at learning of the people that live amongst us.
