Sean Spicer is the White House Press Secretary and Communications Director for Trump, and a very talked about politician. His press conferences are often ridiculed for their open ended answers, and his hostility towards the press. Recently, Melissa McCarthy preformed a sketch impersonating him on SNL. During the sketch she took shots at his obsessive gum swallowing, absurd answers. and general anger. The sketch was very popular and went viral on the internet. After seeing the sketch, Spicer called McCarthy's impression"funny," and that she "needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there" and she "could dial back" her performance a bit.
Throughout the election, SNL has preformed skits on the country's political situation, and continues to do so. After Alec Baldwin impersonated Trump, he called the show "unwatchable" and "unfunny." I thinks it's important for shows like SNL to preform satirical skits that really reflect how a lot of us feel. Even so, with Trumps tendencies to silence any bad press about himself or close associates, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to cancel the show. I personally found the skit hilarious and almost a complete reflection of whats happening in the White House right now. If you haven't seen the skit yet, I highly suggest it.
