Summary:
In Tuscon, Arizona this week, a plane begin to crash from the sky, but was luckily saved by technology. Most people these days seem to be troubled by technology because it can cause many malfunctions and difficulty. However, when this plane began to fall, a system called Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance (GCAS) uploaded and prevented the extremities of a full on collision. As you fall, passengers experience an opposition in force that’s pulling away from them, and Major Luke O’Sullivan, F-16 instructor, described it as a pull away “from your brain and your eyeballs and pulls it away from where it needs to be." Thanks to the special program, the jet was able to be pulled up and avoid crashing into the ground.
Analysis:
This article is a good explanation of how the growth of technology can be helping our economy and even people’s lives. With this new airplane system that has already saved four lives in the military and this pilot, we can only hope that it will continue to improve and provide safety. The purpose was to show the benefits of programs like this and how technology can be widely effective in our daily lives. As this new system improved the safety of flying, the invention of automobiles in the 1920s allowed citizens to live far from their work which influenced the use of the word “commuters.”
It's great that this safety device could help stop such a terrible event.
