Trump a Christian? - Madilyn Weems

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/21/politics/trump-religion-gospel/index.html

In this article the author discusses Trump's religious post of view, that he is not very good at stating. The author says that Trump is uncomfortable sharing his thoughts about religion because he feels he's undeserving for it, and isn't sure what to do. Then the author tells the reader why Trump is so vague in answering questions, which is because he knows answers change and doesn't want anything he says to be set in stone. I am usually not the one to discuss politics, especially during this election, because to be frankly honest I disagree with both candidates, and I believe they don't have good morals. I hope one day one will prove me wrong, I guess we will see when one of them becomes President. But, I believe this article is good to hear because most often before voting we prefer to only look at the bad at one or both candidates. Especially for Trump, who's mouth is always saying something offensive and face looks like an oompa loompa, but as citizens we have to know all the facts before coming to conclusions. The author also stated, "Never do they dig into religion", which clearly not everyone is religious, but if the candidates are religious it's good to hear where they stand, because religion makes up a person's identity. At this point all people are looking for is a good moral compass to follow, and if you're like me my compass seems to be broken. However I want to remind y'all that during Obama's first election there were many who disliked him, and it wasn't this extreme as today's election but it was there because he was new. An african american became our president and some people feared that, not because they were racist just because we hadn't had that before. So keep in mind where your fear of change stands, is it all due to "We've always had a tame politician?" or "We've always had a man." Let me end by saying this is no justification for either of their actions or what they've said, just simply asking have you heard all the facts? And are you judging due to fear?

  1. I like how you highlighted that no presidential candidate has been perfect and that all have had things that the voters are against.

  2. I definitely agree with the oompa loopma part, but besides that I really like the questions you posed at the end, it really gets us thinking. Nice blog!

  3. Your challenges definitely would challenge the average voter. I don't believe they'll ever be a perfect election but I do know it'll be really hard to top how bad this one is.
