*this is the one from last week that i couldn't do because it wouldn't let me upload*
Summary: Former republican presidential candidate Ben Carson decided to speak upon the vast sexual assault allegations against presidential hopeful Donald Trump. When asked to talk about the varies allegations against Trump, and what that would mean for his race, Carson replied with "it doesn't matter" and that it was taking away from the "real issues". Carson then continued to talk about the good Trump will do, and how he will be a better president than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Analysis: Honestly, if we're being for real here, this makes me sick. The fact that Ben Carson can not see how this is even MORE of a pressing issue confounds me. If anything, this proves that Trump is even more ill suited to be president than we thought. Sexual assault is neither a joking matter, nor one to toss around flippantly. Also, his questioning the validity of their statements is something that victims of rape and sexual assault have to deal with everyday of their lives, and for him to talk about it so casually is very scary as a young woman in our country.
Synthesis: This election is more and more starting to remind me of the election of 1800, where the rumors of Thomas Jefferson's infidelity and rape of Sally Hemmings was put aside to talk about the "more pressing issues".
I totally agree with you and it is terribly sad when people in power (or even those who were formally in power) disregard issues that are very important in our lives as American citizens.
