Jordyn Chapman- Scientist plan to map every cell in the human body

Summary: This article describes the predictions made upon a meeting in London of international scientists on human body cells. They believe a project utilized to describe every cell in our bodies is just within science's reach. For countless years, scientists have merely been able to use the microscope for their knowledge of cells. More recently, advances in technology are making it possible to separate individual cells and the molecules important to each one. Once developed, they believe it can be the key to curing many diseases ranging from asthma to cancer. Sarah Teichmann, the head of cellular genetics at the Sanger institute spoke on the situation saying that the initiative is the beginning of a new era of cellular understanding. The meeting in London is planned to help establish the first phase of this initiative. "By creating this atlas through an open, international effort, we are building a new research tool for the whole community," Aviv Regev said.
Analysis: Robert Preidt, an Ontario-based writer an photographer working alongside CBS news created the article on October 17, 2016. Prior to reading this article, I knew of the subject of new advancements in medicine, but still did not know the specifics of what scientists were moving into. This article was written for people around the world and gives a positive influence as the move toward curing diseases is more hopeful. It was written to inform those of the current standing in advancements of technology that can change science as we know it which makes it so important. It is a big step towards figuring out many more unknown things about the human body.
Synthesis- This article can be related to Jonas Edward Salk's development of the vaccine for polio in 1953, which was, much like this new "human cell atlas" seen as a large step in the curing/prevention of a disease.
