Summary: NYPD apprehended Ahmad Khan Rahami, after
a shoot out that left officers injured. He was arrested for his role in the
recent bombings in New York that left 29 injured. He is believed to have
Islamic Terrorist ties and hated America; he apparently was radicalized on a trip over to
Afghanistan. Officials believe that he had assistance with his bombing
attempts.
Analysis: ISIS attacks are truly scary, you never
know where and what some radical will do. We haven't had too many ISIS attacks
on U.S soil, compared to other countries, but even something like this
unsuccessful bombing-unsuccessful in that there were no fatalities- is
concerning to our national security. This brings up the proposal of Donald
Trump to ban the immigration of Syrian refugees to reduce the number of Islamic
State terrorists, which is understandable for national security, but we can't
out right deny a group of people the right to live in the land of the free,
there must be ways to find the terrorists before they enter the U.S. You can
compare this discrimination of a group of people to the horrible treatment of
Jews during the Nazi occupation, and how they were denied their homes.
Safety is everything in this world of tragedy, our Government needs to
find out a viable method of finding the bad guys and helping the good ones
without putting us Americans in danger.
