Recently, nearly 900 people were granted citizenship to the United States due to flaws if the FBI fingerprint records. These people were previously deported or removed. It was said that almost 150,000 either weren't digitized or weren't even included in the Department of Homeland Security's database. There was concern about some of the individuals being connected to terrorism and by granting them citizenship, they grant them access to rights and privileges that are important to the safety of the US. They could gain positions of public trust or even obtain security clearances.
This article was published September 19, 2016 which is relevant because currently, with the coming election, there is a lot of debate about immigration and what effect it has on the safety of the country. The article was written by Ron Nixon, who who seemed pretty un-biased throughout the article. the purpose of the article is to inform the American people about this flaw in our system that could possibly lead to a much bigger issue. The fact that these people had previously been deported or removed is what makes it bad.
This is actually quite scary, considering it could affect not just potential terrorists, but also criminals still living in the U.S.

It's scary how there could be people that no one knows about, in our country, maybe with heavily armed weapons or diseases.
