Summary:
This past Saturday, a man named Dahir Adan was roaming
around a mall, Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud. Adan was wearing a security
officer uniform and randomly stabbed 10 people. Adan is now descripted as a
terrorist. Before he stabbed some of the victims, he asked one of them if they
were Muslim and he mentioned Allah. The F.B.I. is investigating the incident as
a possible terrorist attack. The incident ended with customers sprinting out of
the mall while an off-duty police officer killed Adan.
Anlysis/Synthesis:
The article was written by Mitch Smith and as posted on the
New York Times page. The article was produced on September 19, 2016. This
affects the article because we still have little information on the incident
since this recently just happened and they are still investigating. I did not
hear about this until I read the article. The article is a negative influence
because a terrorist attack is never positive. The article was written for the
general public. This document is relevant for our lives today because of all
the terrorist attacks with ISIS. This relates to many things in the past that
relates to terrorism.

This goes along really nicely with my current event I did about how the U.S. accidentally let in 800 immigrants that were of some concern to our country. Some of these people got jobs as higher authorities like officers and such. It's scary how you normally trust security officers so much that you would never suspect them to hurt you.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how someone could have the mindset to randomly stab 10 people! I wish there was more info on the event I'll have to read about it more.
ReplyDeleteThis is so unfortunate! It is also negative because it puts the religion of Islam in a bad light. we can not forgot that a ISIS memeber and a Muslim are very different things.
ReplyDeleteSo awful that someone could go out and do this to innocent people! Hopefully we will learn more about the results of their search on these killings.
