It today's soiety it has taught to us since before kindergarden the effects of global warming. We see it on the news about all the animals that are becoming endangered and are loosing their habitats due to human innovations but we never hear of any solutions. At the rate of climate change we are experiencing today, we will have a global catastophe before the end of the century. Apparently plastic trees are the new solution. "There's a new technology that can extract carbon from the air and condense into 'fibers' for use in buildings, electronics, cars, clothing and other manufactured goods," Algatt wrote.
I feel like this is a major innovation that could save the world from climate change. I also think that this plastic tree thing sounds familiar.." The lorax" anyone? The trees would have to be used on a very large scale to make progress but i think that it could be done. The article says that these would be implemented by at least 2020. The plastic trees have a few problems including that it the products produced by these trees would need to have a place to go and also it would be very expensive. I dont agree with the thought that money should be a problem becuase carbon dioxide effects everyone is the world.
What about the production of oxygen via plants (trees)? Mankind needs to stop messing with the beautiful things that have always existed on Earth! Maybe less production of carbon dioxide is the solution we should really be looking for. -Sophie Kurzius (8)
