Taytum Buford (Period 6)-Paris Attacks

Summary: On Friday, a series of terrorists attacks took place in Paris that resulted in a killing of more than 120 people. Many people, including the French President, believe this to be the product of the terrorist group ISIS. The first of the booms came at a soccer game in a stadium. Then, people were taken hostage at a music hall. More is to come.
Analysis: Many people are doing their current events for this week, but my story is a little different. The first time I heard of this I was sitting at the airport in my gate headed to D.C. I looked over at the TV monitor and saw a BREAKING NEWS appear at the top of the screen. So I tuned in and started to pay attention. The next thing I saw, people were being wheeled out of a music concert hall in Paris. Then I saw the French President blaming ISIS for the terrible terrorist attacks taken place that evening. So naturally I was scared to get on a plane because the last time something major like this happened that I remember was 9/11. When my mom and I arrived in D.C., the entire airport had much more security than usual. Everywhere we went, security was on high and everyone was more aware of their surroundings. The next thing I knew, Paris was being called the "First of the Storm", and the next places on their hit list was New York, D.C., and Dallas. So automatically, I start to freak out, but luckily I made it home safe and am much more calm now. I wonder if this is how the Americans felt when the British started attacking their land with their own dependence? I bet they were really scared, especially if someone they didn't even know started attacking their own home. I am obviously frightened for the future but ready to stand in the fight!
