Sophie Kurzius (8), Farmer Finds Treasure

On Sunday, November 22, 2015, a  swedish farmer was planting in his cherry orchard and came across something shimmering in the ground. He contacted an archeologist and that archeologist uncovered four thousand coins that were believed to have been buried there seventeen hundred years ago. This unearthing is exceptionally rare and archeologists are calling it a whole new category of discovery. There are many theories as to how and why the coins got there, but there is no way to know for sure. The author who wrote this article is Will Heilpern. This article is significant  because it reminds the world that so much has happened on the land we built highways and skyscrapers on. There could be the same abundance of treasure under a Kroger for all we know! I had no prior knowledge of this discover before reading this article, so I had no idea something like this could happen anywhere in the world to anyone in any situation. I think this article is important because it kind of makes you want to look back into the history of the world and appreciate how far we've come and what kind of things occurred before today.
