After recent terrorist attacks on Paris, France, countries all over the world are reacting in their own respective ways. One popular response looks to the acceptance of refugees from Middle Eastern countries. As of now, half of America is no longer accepting refugees from Syria, Iraq, and other countries. Even European countries that are especially welcoming, such as Sweden and Germany, are growing uneasy and changing their policies. There's no doubt that anti-immigrant politicians will use this to their advantage, but is this really the answer?
Racism has always been a problem in America particularly. But for the "land of opportunity," this seems a little rash. There's a very large gray area when it comes to whether or not the idea of turning away refugees is "safe" or simply unfair. Recent events have everyone concerned, but that I'm sure those in the Middle East are just as scared.

People like to complain that racism is so big in american, and it is. But hey don't realize how much worse it is in other countries and how much its gonna increase after these last few weeks. -Bernadette Negrete
