As recent headlines tell, Paris, France was attacked by ISIS in multiple locations for the second time this year. The President of France, François Hollande, is increasing security in public places, shutting down major landmarks, and planning not to cut funding for defense until 2019 at the earliest. With new knowledge, U.S. officials are warning of a threat proposed by ISIS, as the group made a video threatening Washington as their next target.
I can't say anything spectacular about the subject; I believe it to be as sickening, saddening and worrysome as anyone else. Unfortunately, feeling sad, although perfectly human, will not banish the problem. We must grieve by looking out for one another, whether it be a neighbor or a French pen pal. Luckily, that's what communities are doing as they remember those who lost their lives.
These events are similar to the Salem Witch Trials in that both were murderous acts committed and excused by interpretations of God and His word. Much later in U.S. History, these attacks can also be related to the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
