In this article a new form of architecture has been developed. These are self sustaining houses called Earthships. The houses are made almost entirely out of recycled materials and garbage. The company has built quite a few homes across the nation and they usually sell for around 250,00 to 1.5 million dollars. These 'junk homes' use natural wind currents to help heat and cool the house. Their designs break most architectural rules so it is hard for the creators to get permission from certain cities in order to build them.
As the earth's population grows we are needing more self sustaining housing that uses green energy. In early colonial times, colonists lived in shabby cabins with mud floors and burned wood to keep the house warm and cook. Over time, houses have become more and more complex and this is the next greatest upgrade. I would love to live in one of these houses.
It's funny how most people think that tech & nature can't live together, but what about green science. I think it'd be great to use science to learn how to live as green as possible
