On Friday, an 8-year old boy was charged with murder because he beat a 1-year-old girl to death. The girl wouldn't stop crying while her mother was at a club, and the boy became annoyed and "viciously attacked" the toddler by beating her to death. The 1-year-old girl had severe internal organ damage, as well as major head trauma. The girl's mother has been charged with manslaughter for leaving her 1-year-old daughter at home alone to take care of her roommate's children while she went out clubbing. The woman and her roommate didn't bother to check on the children when they got home around 2am, and found the toddler unresponsive in her crib the next morning.
Although there really is no specific target audience for this article, I feel like everyone can benefit and learn from reading it. It's so sad to think that the death of an innocent toddler could have been easily prevented if the mother had made the more knowledgeable choice of staying at home to watch her child, rather than going out and clubbing with friends. I hope that those who read this article will learn from the woman's mistakes to make sure that they don't make the same one.

This is a careless act and those mothers should feel terrible for the decision they made. You cannot leave a 1-year old baby at home and go out clubbing thinking everything is going to be okay when you get home.

I am very angry about how some 'mothers' be so 'motherLESS'. And while I find it crazy that mother basically brought this unto her own child, I don't understand how an 8-year-old can find so much hate that they kill their own blood. I honestly am sad that not only did the toddler die but imagine how much mental abuse the 8-year-old could have had to commit such a thing.(Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)
