The US is giving intelligence to Saudi Arabia about possible air strikes against Houthi Iran allied militias. This solidifies the fact that the US is aligning against Iran in the Yemen proxy war. This is after Saudis and others in the area have failed to contain the Houthis. This is the reasoning behind the US's entrance into the war. The US's scope is increasing, especially with the decision to share information with Saudi Arabia.
Connections in this region mostly come from oil and trade. Decisions cannot be made lightly about whether or not to act and how much influence they should have. This is similar to the problems that led to the Vietnam War or to the Iraq War. The US isn't very good about staying neutral. We've always been swayed into wars by our opponents, and act too hard. Pearl Harbor led us into World War I, 9/11 led us into the conflicts we're currently broiled into in the Middle East. And we don't know how to stop. Which is apparent in the dropping of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hopefully this Yemen Proxy War will not expand into anywhere near to what these past conflicts have been. Hopefully the US will know when to simply give up.
