An earthquake in Nepal recently killed more than 4,000 and injured many more. Saurpani, Nepal was noted to be the epicenter. Villagers in this town are scattered, dying, dead, or severely hurt. It's apparent that this is the biggest earthquake in 80 years for Nepal, possibly the worst one in global times since Haiti and Japan. Nature has also taken a toll from this disaster, Towns have been destroyed and Nepal's citizens can be seen riding around holes of rock and eroded surfaces. Nepal is the definition of devastation this week. Rescue crews are having issues distributing aid to all parts of Nepal and it's clear that Nepal will need foreign help.
Analysis: This relates to APUSH because we have seen many natural disasters like this before. We have witnessed, in the past twenty years, earthquakes in Japan, San Diego, and Haiti. These disasters are spread out all over, yet the response is always the same: immediate help and relief. It's our jobs as Americans to spread our idea of freedom and acceptance by aiding those affected in Nepal, just as we did with Haiti, Japan, and California.

This kind of monstrous natural destruction is such an 'unreal' type of occurrence, since we are not exposed to such things directly most of the time.. Unfortunately the situation seems dire, yet I agree with the stance of full relief and aid being put forth from America in at least an attempt to help all that we can..
