The death toll from the earthquake that struck Nepal 2 days ago surged passed 3,000 today, a government official said. The desperate search for survivors from the country's worst natural disaster in more than 80 years.
The number of people confirmed dead in Nepal stands at 3,218 said Napalese Ministry of Home Affairs spokesman Laxmi Dhakal. India has reported 56 deaths, and china another 20. Tibet has counted 25 deaths and 117 injured, according to Xinhua news agency, citing disaster relief officials in Tibet.
