Cuba’s Spot on U.S. Terror List Gums Up Restoration of Relations Madana Kloss 4th
Cuba's spot on the American list of states that sponsor terrorism is hurting their effort to restore diplomatic ties with the US and to "reopen embassies that have been closed for nearly five decades." If Obama thinks that is best for Cuba to be removed from the list, he must send a report to Congress say that Cuba has not "supported international terrorism in the last six months." According to the State Department Report “There was no indication that the Cuban government provided weapons or paramilitary training to terrorist groups." This can be compared to the Cuban Missile Crisis. This can connect to the Cuban Missile Crisis because just like in 1962 the United States wondered if the
Cubans were going to harm other countries.I do believe that Obama should move Cuba from the list, as it seems that activity with enemy groups had not been occurring there for
decades. Furthermore, we have not recently heard any detrimental news from Cuba, and
the threat of communism has seemed to die out for the most part. Cuba should no longer
be considered out enemy.http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/28/world/americas/cubas-spot-on-us-terror-list-gums-up-restoration-of-relations.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0
