CURRENT EVENT BY LAURA WALTON
ORIGINAL STORY BY CNN REPORTER, ALEXANDRA JAFFE
Earlier this week, Hilary Clinton announced her bid for
presidency exciting a large majority of the world. However, when asked about
high profile issues like immigration and same sex marriage, she supported
solutions for both. In 2008, Hilary Clinton ran for president and was not
picked for the democratic nomination and at that time she did not support same
sex marriage or immigration. Many have forgotten this, but not her opponent of
the time, Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley. O’Malley points out that change
of stance on important issues is not suitable for a position of power. I
believe this is important for US HISTORY because mudslinging is normal for
every candidacy however this opponent could stand between America’s first female
president and the oval office.
