This is the 21st century, which means 21st century technology. Our nation has come a long way in terms of technology, especially technology used in combat. For instance, the U.S. navy has made a breakthrough in underwater warfare that could change the way we handle military conflicts with foreign nations. This is the navy's new "yellow submarine," or underwater drone that can operate without human control. It is a revolutionary weapon that can change the way the Pentagon fights wars worldwide. On the other hand, some issues we would have to address are unmanned machinery without the control of humans does leave room for error. Technology lacks the fundamental human behavior that is often required in war. We would need to computerize each and every possible situation needing human assistance.
I believe that this is huge in terms of military weaponry. Yes, it does leave lots of room for error and lack of human logos, but it would greatly contribute to a lower number of navy casualties since we no longer need to put our own citizens on the front lines. Instead, this underwater drown would take care of all the dirty work for us, which puts us a greater advantage over our enemy;however, this may lead to a higher rate of unemployment among soldiers enlisted.
